Right now, the best set of college football rankings we have is Jeff Sagarin’s system. Next week, a neutered version of it will be included in the official BCS standings.
College Football Rankings, Sagarin Top 25: LSU, Oklahoma Gaining On Alabama
Sagarin's numbers like the Alabama Crimson Tide No. 1, though not quite by the same margin as last week. The LSU Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners form a triumvirate that's nearly three points ahead of the No. 4 Boise St. Broncos, with the No. 6 Oklahoma St. Cowboys another clear level down from the No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers.
Among the computers' biggest disagreement with humans will likely be the No. 12, two-loss Florida Gators -- who've lost to the two best teams in the country -- along with the No. 13 Arizona St. Sun Devils, No. 15 Penn St. Nittany Lions and No. 16 Texas A&M Aggies.
Division I-AA teams are included, with FCS Top 25 No. 5 Wofford moving ahead of No. 1 Georgia Southern. (FCS polls come out Monday, by the way.)
