College Football Rankings: Boise State Joined By Houston Among Non-BCS Teams In Week 7 Polls

Boise State does well enough in the Week 7 AP Poll Top 25 and the Week 7 USA Today coaches poll. But for the Broncos, that standing in the college football rankings may not be enough for them to get to the BCS National Championship Game.

Boise State (No. 5 AP/No. 6 coaches) is probably still two or three losses away from a chance to play for a national title if the Broncos run the table in the regular season -- the holy grail for a team from a non-BCS automatic qualifier conference.

Kellen Moore and company can count on at least one loss when LSU and Alabama play in November, but it’s increasingly unlikely that there will be enough Ls to propel them past Wisconsin (set up to go undefeated) and whichever Big 12 team from Oklahoma wins the Bedlam Game at the end of the year.

The Broncos are joined by another non-BCS by undefeated Houston (No. 22 coaches/No. 25 AP), which has used an explosive offense led by Case Keenum to roll up passing yardage and wins.
