So it turns out that a 24-3 lead isn't so safe for Kansas, and that Robert Griffin III is fairly good at playing quarterback. Griffin helped Baylor erase a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter, and push a game that could have been a Kansas blowout to overtime at 24-24.
Baylor Vs. Kansas Overtime: Robert Griffin Leads Massive Comeback To 24-24 Tie
Griffin’s pedestrian day turned into a massive one, with 298 passing yards and 103 rushing yards. And he got those numbers in part by making big plays happen in the fourth frame, completing touchdown passes of 67 and 36 yards and running for a 49-yard score.
Those three touchdowns allowed the Bears to tie the game. And now, headed to overtime periods against Kansas’ suspect defense and anemic offense, it’s hard to imagine Baylor failing to beat the Jayhawks, not long after it was difficult to imagine them even getting back into the game.
