Illinois linebacker Trulon Henry was shot in the hand during an altercation at a party following the Illini's loss to Michigan on Saturday and will miss the rest of the season. Henry was reportedly in the wrong place at the wrong time as he tried to usher Illinois players out of the residence while playing peacemaker.

The report comes from Illini HQ.

Members of the Illinois football were at the party when a fight broke out. One of the players called Henry to have him help get the players away from the scene. Shots were fired into the crowd and Henry was hit in the hand.

Henry’s injuries are not life-threatening and he is scheduled to have surgery on Sunday. For the season, Henry had 39 tackles and two interceptions, the latter was tied for second-best on the team.

We’ll be back with more on the incident as it becomes available. For more on Illinois football, head over to HHail to the Orange and SB Nation Indiana.
