It’s still the Oregon and Stanford show for the Pac-12 in the latest BCS Rankings, but things look a bit different than they did last week. Following the Ducks’ big win in the Pac-12 North showdown on Saturday, the two teams have flip-flopped, with Oregon leaping into the top-five and Stanford sliding down near the bottom of the top-10.
Week 12 BCS Standings: Oregon, Stanford Flip-Flop, Still Pace Pac-12
The Ducks need some help to vault into the BCS Championship, and from the looks of things may not get it. However, Oregon is almost assured of a Rose Bowl berth, given to winner of the first-ever Pac-12 Championship. An early season loss to LSU may have killed the Ducks chance of making a return trip to the title game, but they’ve bounced back nicely since.
For Stanford, an uphill battle remains, and the Cardinal no longer control their own destiny in the conference. For Stanford to make the Pac-12 title game, it’ll need some help, mainly in the form of an Oregon loss. Even still, the Cardinal should stay inside the BCS top-10 for the rest of the season, should they continue to win.
Like last year, it’s a two-team affair for the Pac-12 in the BCS Rankings, with no other teams in sight -- the product of a weak South division and a top-heavy North dominated by the aforementioned teams.
