After the Iowa State Cyclones pulled within 10 points of the Oklahoma State Cowboys on a long touchdown run, they were able to surprise Okie State with an onside kick and recovered it. The Cyclones marched down the field and pulled within a single score with Okie State, kicking a field goal to put the score 24-17.

Oklahoma State got the football back, but their offense failed to add to their lead. The Cowboys went a quick three-and-out on three straight Brandon Weeden passes, giving the ball right back to the Cyclones.
