Arkansas State Wins Sun Belt, Claims GoDaddy.com Bowl Bid

Arkansas State has earned its way into a bowl game named after a website whose commercials try entirely too hard.

The Arkansas St. Red Wolves have won their first-ever Sun Belt Conference and punched their ticket to the second FBS bowl game in program history, the GoDaddy.com. It's the second postseason appearance for Arky State since the 1987 I-AA Quarterfinals, so we're really saying something here.

Mike Humes@MikeHumesESPN Another bowl bid taken: Arkansas St has accepted an invitation to theGoDaddy.com Bowl (Sun, 1/8 at 9pm, ESPN)

Hugh Freeze and his minions of icy doom have already managed the school’s second-ever FBS winning season and a decent shot at a ranked finish, which would be the first such showing in Sun Belt history. The bowl is called the GoDaddy.com Bowl, but that shouldn’t minimize the achievements made by the Red Wolves. They didn’t name it.

They'll be matched up in Mobile against a MAC opponent, which should be the conference's champion. That will be either the Northern Illinois Huskies, Toledo Rockets, or Ohio Bobcats.
