Look, the pickings are slim right now if you’re trying to find close games involving a ranked team. The afternoon/early evening shift is severely lacking at the moment, and a 14-point game at the half is the best we can do. That’s the case in the rivalry game between Virginia and Virginia Tech, with the Hokies holding a 14-0 halftime lead.
We never said it was a pretty game, though. Perusing the stats, one would think this was a fairly even game -- Virginia Tech holds a 199-162 advantage in total yards and Virginia has turned the ball over once. But no, the Hokies have control of this one, at least momentarily, though much can change in the next 30 minutes.

Thomas has completed three of his five passes for 47 yards, but it was his feet that got Virginia Tech into the scoring column. Thomas, recruited by Virginia as a tight end, picked up 14 yards on his way to the end zone midway through the opening stanza.
