Dabo Swinney was asked about the assertion after practice Thursday (at the 1:50 mark below). At first, he hoped Spurrier didn’t actually say it, but then so many wheels started falling off, concluding with, “Carolina’s in Chapel Hill and USC’s in California and the university in this state -- always has been, always will be -- Clemson.”
