Tulsa Vs. UCF, Akron Vs. Miami (Ohio) Final Scores: Cane Bowl Eligible, Zips Clipped

Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Central Florida Knights: Tulsa added a tough road victory to its impressive 2011, moving to 6-3 and becoming bowl-eligible after downing UCF, 24-17. Their Nov. 25 date with the Houston Cougars is looking to be the regular season Conference USA game of the year.

Both are unbeaten in conference, and a head-to-head win would give Tulsa the tiebreaker, regardless of Houston’s superior overall record. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

The Knights, meanwhile, have retained none of last year’s momentum. Their only noteworthy win came almost two months ago against Boston College, another team that had a pretty awful Thursday night.

Tulsa’s offensive game ball goes to quarterback G.J. Kinne, who threw for a tidy 203 and ran for another 92, avoiding turnovers along the way.

Akron Zips vs. Miami RedHawks: Akron entered Thursday night with zero wins over FBS programs. That has not changed. A 35-3 dozer for landlocked Miami, putting the RedHawks on a two-game winning streak and to 4-5 overall ahead of an important trip to see the Temple Owls.
