The fallout from Friday’s grand jury indictment of former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky continues on Saturday, with his attorney, Joe Amendola, the latest to chime in on the case. In a quick press conference, Amendola denied the charges and told reporters his client maintains his innocence. Amendola said Sandusky was “shaky” in the face of the serious allegations, and is having a rough time wrapping his head around the charges. It was also news to Amendola that two Penn State administrators were charged with perjury.
Sandusky was arraigned on the charges, with bail set at $100,000. According to Amendola, the low bail -- the prosecution asked for $500,000 -- was fair as Sandusky is not a flight risk in the case. From here, the defense expects to learn more about the case ahead of a preliminary hearing on Nov. 9.
