Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden didn't come into the 2011 college football season with the most Heisman hype or the best NFL Draft stock, but the Cowboys' trigger man may be commanding the nation's best offense, and could be the leader of an undefeated team at season's end. And that makes him a prime Heisman Trophy contender with a stock that is very much on the rise.
Heisman Trophy 2011 Watch: Brandon Weeden’s Stock Rising As Oklahoma State Soars
Brandon Weeden’s Heisman stock may have risen after his monster night against Kansas State, but does it have a ceiling?

Weeden made a few mistakes in Oklahoma State’s thrilling 52-45 win over Kansas State on Saturday, including throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown, but he threw for a staggering 501 yards and four touchdowns. And he’s the focal point of an offense that will have to be great for Oklahoma to even have a chance at a national championship; if he’s got a 12-0 record under his belt with some massive numbers in his back pocket, voters are going to have to break the recent mold of “best glamour position player on best team in country” to vote for someone other than Weeden.
Weeden's problems, though, are the same as ever: he plays for the off-brand school in his state, has an equally talented teammate in Justin Blackmon, and is still running a pass-happy system. It will be interesting to see if they create a ceiling for his Heisman chances.
