Miami safety Ray-Ray Armstrong will not make the trip to Tallahassee this weekend as the Miami Hurricanes face the Florida State Seminoles, according to reports on Wednesday. Armstrong was named in the Yahoo! Sports investigation based around claims by former booster Nevin Shapiro, and was suspended four games as a result. This suspension, however, is unrelated to the Shapiro claims.

Miami safety Ray-Ray Armstrong was reportedly suspended for this weekend’s game against Florida State.

Miami is reportedly investigating Armstrong’s contact with Ari Washington, who appears to work as a public relations representative with professional athletes. This quickly-deleted tweet sent by Armstrong on Sunday may have something to do with the investigation.

However, there is some question as to whether or not his contact was impermissible. In fact, the two may be boyfriend and girlfriend, as Brian London notes.
From reading tweets.looks like Ray-Ray and Pr rep may be bf/gf .. in that case..no infraction..however. considering recent history.looks bad
It would seem likely Miami is operating out of an abundance of caution while still in the wake of the allegations levied by Nevin Shapiro in August. Whether or not Armstrong’s suspension lasts, or if there were any NCAA violations in the first place, remains to be seen.
