Mike Sherman Decision At Texas A&M Expected Soon

Whether Mike Sherman stays or goes as Texas A&M Aggies head coach could be decided within the next day, according to beat writer Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle. And, despite an earlier report that indicated Sherman and his big buyout would likely remain, Zwerneman isn’t yet convinced either way.

It appears Sherman has about a 50-50 chance - this could still go either way and nothing has been decided for certain - of returning for a fifth season. This has all moved very fast over the past 24 hours, perhaps with the idea that some mightily influential Aggies, with the backing of school president R. Bowen Loftin, have already targeted a candidate to replace Sherman, 25-25 over his first four seasons.

Sherman is 25-25 in four years in College Station, and only 15-18 in the Big 12. Whether the Aggies want to charge into the SEC with him as their head coach should be decided soon.
