2012 NFL Draft: Fletcher Cox Plans To Enter, According To Report
A pair of Mississippi State defenders are mullin’ the NFL Draft, as advised by Dan Mullen.
"I always encourage all of them to fill out the paperwork if they have the interest," Mullen said Tuesday. "We see where their status is. Sometimes we'll try even to go beyond that, I'll talk to some coaches in the NFL and then we'll sit down with the family and make educated decisions what is best for these guys' futures."
Cox is expected to go in the second round, but with strong workouts he could sneak into the latter portion of the first. The chatter on Banks: a third or second.
As a draft prospect, Cox is intriguing. He’s lined up at end but mostly plays tackle directly over the guard. He has active hands, which he can take advantage of with his long arms. Cox has a nice burst off the line and closes better than most defensive tackles. At the next level, if he stays inside, he may need to add more lower body strength to anchor the run better.
