Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck is probably going to be the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He's already shocked everybody by passing up millions to return for his redshirt junior year -- will he do it again?

“I don’t think so,” Stanford coach David Shaw told Dan Patrick on Wednesday. “Only if I try to kidnap him and hold him in my house until after the draft. Last year, physically he was ready, I think even emotionally he was ready, but he felt like he wasn’t done with college football.”

Luck has been leveling up throughout the season, taking on more and more of Stanford’s play-calling duties. He’s fifth in the country in passer rating, third among BCS conference passers, and has completed 70 percent of his attempts. His numbers were slightly better in 2010, but unless something unexpected happens, he’ll still be the top prize in 2012.
