Though they enter Saturday night's SEC Championship Game as nearly two touchdown underdogs, the No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs are confident that sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray can lead them to a win over the No. 1 LSU Tigers, writes Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
SEC Championship 2011, LSU Vs. Georgia: Bulldogs Believe In Quarterback Aaron Murray
“Murray is obviously one of the best quarterbacks in the country,” Bulldogs center Ben Jones said.. “To have him under center is great because it always gives us a chance to win. It just shows how important it is for us to do a good job on the front five, just to keep him upright and give him clear lanes. I feel like if he has time and opportunities to do what he does, we’ll have a great chance to win.”
Murray completed 202-of-331 pass attempts for 2,698 yards and a school-record 32 touchdowns this season. Murray also leads the SEC in passing efficiency (155.4), but will be tested by an LSU defense that ranks in the Top 10 in every major statistical category.
