Another Army Black Knights graduating class will leave West Point without a win over the Navy Midshipmen. The Middies have now won 10 in a row, securing a 27-21 victory in Washington, D.C. The good news for Army: at least this one came down to the wire. It's the first time during the great drought that Army has lost by fewer than two scores.
Army-Navy Game 2011 Final Score: Middies Make It 10
It came down to a fourth-and-one play, in fact, when an Army linebacker was drawn offsides, producing the all-but-decisive first down. He will not have a pleasant evening.
If not for three lost fumbles, two fourth-down conversions allowed and a failed fourth-down effort of their own, the Cadets very well could've walked away the winners for the first time in a decade. Kriss Proctor finished with 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and future Navy SEAL Alexander Teich cranked out 93 and one.
The series now stands at 56-49-7, Navy. Next year’s game returns to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
