Auburn Tigers star running back Michael Dyer has been suspended, according to the Decatur Daily. The reasons for the sophomore's suspension have not been disclosed, but Dyer will miss the Chick-fil-A Bowl on December 31, where the No. 25 Tigers are set to face off against the Virginia Cavaliers.

Dyer put together a solid 2011 season for Auburn and was selected as first-team All-Southeastern Conference, coming in second in the SEC after averaging 103.5 rushing yards per game. In only his second year, Dyer has already etched his name in the record books. In 2010, he broke Bo Jackson's record for most rushing yards by a freshman. He was also named Offensive Player of the Game in 2010's BCS National Championship Game against the Oregon Ducks.

Entering the season as defending national champions, Auburn finished 7-5 overall in 2011, going 4-4 in conference play.
