Auburn Tigers running back Michael Dyer will miss the 2011 Chick-fil-A Bowl against the Virginia Cavaliers, AU confirmed over the weekend. He's suspended indefinitely for violating undisclosed team rules, which means he could be suspended for YEARS, but probably just this one game.
Michael Dyer Suspended For Chick-fil-A Bowl, Auburn Confirms
Auburn offense Michael Dyer will miss the team’s bowl game.
However, Auburn blog Track Em Tigers cites rumors that Dyer could be an ex-Plainsman in coming months.
A sophomore, Dyer led Auburn in rushing yards and total yardage -- his 1,242 from scrimmage accounted for even more than Barrett Trotter's passing yardage on the year. You could say he's quite valuable to Gus Malzahn.
In his place, the Tigers will likely expect more out of backup Onterio McCalebb and perhaps try out the versatile Quan Bray's rushing skills.
Auburn remains a 1.5-point favorite over UVa at the moment.
