New Mexico Bowl 2011 Halftime Score: Temple All Over Wyoming

The Temple Owls are well on their way to their first bowl victory since 1979. At halftime, the New Mexico Bowl score favors Temple over the Wyoming Cowboys, 28-7.

Good news for Wyoming: they found a little offense, when Brett Smith hit Josh Doctson for a sweet one-handed catch (followed by an extra point that struck BOTH goalposts). Bad news: Temple has added an air attack to its ground game. Chris Coyer hit Rod Streater for a 61-yard scoring streak on the next play from scrimmage. The Owls are now averaging 18.3 yards per pass attempt.

The yardage battle leans Temple’s way, 278 to 160. Four Temple runners have 20 or more yards on the ground, three of them exceeding 35 apiece.
