While Cincinnati doesn’t have anything to play for after last night’s West Virginia win over South Florida, it is still a big weekend for the Bearcats as they’ll host a number of talented prospects.
Cincinnati Recruiting: Sheldon Dawson And Other Weekend Visitors
With its BCS hopes dashed, Cincinnati will attempt to impress recruits this weekend against Connecticut.
The top prospect in the group is athlete Sheldon Dawson. The 5'11" athlete from Mempis' Ridgeway High School is considered a soft commitment to the Memphis Tigers, but is open and Cincinnati will have a chance to sway him. Dawson also claims offers from Georgia, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He's likely to play defensive back, though as you can see from the video, he is pretty good with the ball in his hands as well.
Joining Dawson on his visit will be a number of other talented prospects.
Alex Pace is a 6’3”, 280-pound defensive tackle out of Cleveland’s Glenville High School. Cincinnati is his best offer, though he may be waiting for Ohio State to pull the trigger (unlikely).
JUCO running back Aaron Harris, out of California’s Southwest Community College will be making the trip. He’s 6’0, 200 pounds and also claims offers from Georgia and Indiana.
David Smith is a 6’1”, 196-pound runner from Midlothian, Illinois’ Bremen High School. Smith holds a number of BCS offers, including Boston College, Georgia Tech and West Virginia.
On the defensive side, the Bearcats welcome inside linebacker Jaylen Coleman of Pittsburgh’s University Prep School. Coleman also claims a West Virginia offer.
Current Bearcat commitments Lester Liston and Nate Cole are expected to take in the game.
