The South Carolina Gamecocks received a bit of good news this week, in the midst of dealing with a potential NCAA violation caused by a party flier. Kyle Nunn, the team's starting left tackle from the beginning of the season, will play in the 2012 Capitol One Bowl after sitting out most of the season due to a serious back injury. The fifth-year senior also underwent surgery to repair a blood clot in his leg, leaving him on the sideline and hampering the USC offense.

Nunn's return not only upgrades the team's pass blocking, it also adds depth to an injury-stricken unit. The Gamecocks are currently working with a rotation of just six lineman up front, with senior guard Terrence Campbell out with a leg injury. Nunn would also allow the team to move Rokevious Watkins back to right tackle where he is a more natural fit.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers also received good news up front, with center Mike Caputo being declared eligible to play in the bowl game after a drunk driving charge against him was reduced.
