Northwestern is still alive despite a huge early deficit in the 2011 Meineke Car Care Bowl, which is about what one would expect when the team on the other sideline is Texas A&M’s 2011 iteration. The Wildcats scored again in the fourth quarter to draw within a possession at 30-22 with under six minutes to go.
Meineke Car Care Bowl 2011 Score Update: Northwestern Storming Down Comeback Trail
Kain Colter, who already ran in a touchdown in the final period, made a play with his legs and his arm to throw for a second, dancing away from pressure before finding Tim Riley on a two-yard pass. The Wildcats elected to merely kick the extra point down nine to make a tie possible should they score and get a two-point conversion.
After the touchdown, Northwestern had a 105-5 advantage in total yards in the fourth quarter. And Texas A&M fans probably had a potent case of deja vu.
