Sun Bowl 2011: Utah, Georgia Tech Set To Face Off In El Paso

According to the El Paso Times, this year's Sun Bowl looks to be set as the Utah Utes and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are expected to accept invites on Sunday evening.

The Utes, who finished the regular season 7-5, shared an identical Pac-12 record with the Washington Huskies and the California Golden Bears, but lost the in-season matchup with Washington. They will square off against Georgia Tech, who finished the season with an overall 8-4 record.

The Sun Bowl was established in 1935 and has pitted a Pac-12 team against an ACC team since 2010.

Game date, time: 2:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011

Location: Sun Bowl Stadium, El Paso, Tx.

TV channel: CBS

2010 winner and loser: Notre Dame def. Miami Hurricanes, 33-17
