Clemson Vs West Virginia, 2012 Orange Bowl: Tigers Offensive Coordinator Chad Morris Signs Contract Extension

With the Clemson Tigers and West Virginia Mountaineers both ranking in the Top 20 in passing offense and Top 30 in scoring offense, the 2012 Orange Bowl is expected to be a high-scoring affair. The Tigers aim to keep their offense humming in the future, extending the contract of first-year offensive coordinator Chad Morris, The Post and Courier in Charleston, South Carolina reports.

Morris had been earning $450,000 per season under his previous deal and is expected to get a significant raise after his up-tempo offense helped the Tigers improve from 87th in total and scoring offense to 29th in passing and 30th in scoring offense this season.

“It was just a formality,” Tigers head coach and Coach of the Year finalist Dabo Swinney said of Morris’ new deal.
