The 2012 TicketCity Bowl features a match up between the Houston Cougars and the Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State has been toiled in controversy for the past few weeks because of the Jerry Sandusky scandal and the firing of long-time legendary head coach Joe Paterno, but the football team still fought on and made it to the Big Ten title game, in which they lost. The Lions will look to put the tumultuous 2011 season behind them in the new year.
Penn State, Houston, 2012 TicketCity Bowl: Cougars Looking To Prove They’re Legit
The Houston Cougars season was disappointing for another reason, in the sense that they dropped their first loss of the season last week to Southern Miss in the Conference-USA championship game. Quarterback Case Keenum was breaking record after record, but all the BCS momentum the Cougars were building hit a brick wall with the loss. They’ll take their high-flying offense against one of the better defenses in all of college football.
