7A: Jacksonville First Coast Beats Lakeland 24-14

The First Coast Buccaneers finally have a quarterback, and now they’ll be playing for it all for the first time. For years, the Buccaneers has elite talent at every position— but quarterback.

But tonight, behind the arm of quarterback DeAndre Johnson and the fumble return of linebacker Reggie Northrup, a Miami commitment, the Buccaneers defeated the Lakeland Dreadnoughts.

They await the winner of the Dwyer – Manatee game, which is coming down to the wire. Both Dwyer and Manatee are loaded with top prospects as well, and this should be a fantastic title game.

Update: Manatee defeated Dwyer, 19-14. Quarterbacks Cord Sandberg and Faton Bauta (Georgia commitment) put on a show, but in the end, Dwyer was heavily, heavily penalized and couldn’t get out of its own way.
