5A: Miami Commitment Duke Johnson Breaks Out For Norland

Another week, another huge performance by Norland running back Duke Johnson. There’s can be plenty of debate over which prospect will be the best at the next level, but there is no debate as to the best high school player. Miami Norland beat Palmetto 35-27, and it was all Duke Johnson.

Johnson had 336 yards on 17 carries through three quarters, and finished with 375 yards on 27 carries, including three touchdowns.

Palmetto jumped out to a 20-0 lead before Duke sparked a 35-7 run for the Norland Vikings.

Norland will play for the state title against Wakulla, who defeated Pasco in a multiple-overtime game in the Panhandle.
