Wisconsin Valorously Agrees To Rematch With TCU, At Wisconsin

So a “third party” (cough cough ESPN cough cough) approached Wisconsin and TCU about an opportunity for a rematch after the Horned Frogs defeated Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl several weeks ago. Badgers head coach Bret Bielema let us all know that he was courageous enough to take on the challenge.

“I was contacted a week and half after the bowl game about the opportunity to play TCU in our opener,” Bielema told The Mike Heller Show. “It was something that was going to be broadcast and made a big deal. It took me all of about .5 seconds to say yes.”

Well the game will not happen, because TCU said no.

While it’s easy to look at TCU’s ducking of a rematch with Wisconsin and see it as a team about to join a BCS AQ conference once again avoiding a tough non-conference game, consider the fact that TCU would only get the trip to Wisconsin and nothing else. And keep in mind that the Horned Frogs are already having problems putting together a home schedule that their fans can enjoy.

In other words, this appears to be more of the same for TCU, at least until they officially exit the ranks of the mid-majors. Even with AQ riches only a year away, they still can’t get any respect.
