Can The NCAA And Yahoo! Just Get Along? Yes, Actually

Do the beleaguered drones of various Division I university compliance departments have a touchy relationship with media outlets like Yahoo! Sports? Probably, some of them, and they’re certainly within their rights to feel that way, but the NCAA’s official compliance blogger thinks a watchdog media helps athletic departments do their jobs better:

↵↵Ultimately the team at Yahoo! Sports is a force of good in college athletics. The uncovering of violations and the sanctioning of offenders helps fix what is broken no matter who starts the process. We know that the NCAA and its members haven’t punted enforcement to the media and many talented and dedicated people are working from the inside. Outside help shouldn’t be turned away.

And speaking of help, apart from the Jim Tressel investigation, don't forget that the NCAA is scheduled to receive another handy boost from the likes of the Purple Y! team and Charles Robinson in the next couple weeks.
