Brandon Wimberly Responsive, But In Extreme Pain After Shooting

Nevada Wolf Pack WR Brandon Wimberly is still in serious pain after being shot Saturday morning in Reno, coach Chris Ault told RGJ.com's Chris Murray. The bullet damage to his torso is preventing him from moving around, and Ault makes it sound like his player won't be getting out of bed any time soon, but Wimberly is at least conscious and responsive to family members.

He’s expected to remain in the hospital for more than a week, but it does sound like Nevada supporters and general well-wishers have reason to hope for Wimberly to be able to carry on with his life, if not his football career.

Reno police also told Murray the investigation is ongoing but confidential, though they’ve released a photograph of the suspect’s car and are preparing to interview Wimberly’s four teammates who were on the scene.
