South Carolina QB Coach G.A. Mangus Suspended Following Arrest
“G.A. has been suspended from all coaching activities until this matter is resolved,” Spurrier said Tuesday in statement. “We are disappointed in his actions and will handle it accordingly.’”
The suspension is in line with the way South Carolina would react to a student committing the same violation.
Greenville Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jason Rampey said Mangus has already been released from jail and the coach faces a $470 fine if convicted. According to the police report, Mangus was seen urinating in public and smelled of alcohol.
He was in Greenville for a state high school football coaches meeting. Mangus is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 26.
