A man listed as Quan Bray’s father has turned himself in for the murder of Bray’s mother in Georgia.
Auburn Supporting Quan Bray After Death Of Mother, Gene Chizik Issues Statement
In the wake of the death of the mother of incoming freshman Auburn wide receiver Quan Bray, the Auburn community is reaching out to help Bray. The Birmingham News reports that Bray has been the recipient of an outpouring of support on Facebook and Twitter, and that the father of quarterback Kiehl Frazier tweeted that he and his son were on the way to Bray’s home in LaGrange, Ga. to offer support.
Bray’s mother, Tonya, was reportedly killed in a drive-by shooting on Sunday morning. The man who turned himself in for the slaying, Jeff Jones, is listed as Quan Bray’s father on Bray’s official Auburn profile, and news outlets have reported that Jones and Tonya Bray were a separated couple.

Jeff Jones turned himself in for the murder of Bray, claiming that he shot her while driving alongside Bray’s car. According to police reports, Bray and Jones had been together in an 18-year relationship, but they have not yet confirmed whether the two were married. As WTVM’s report points out, Quan’s official profile at the school’s website lists Jeff Jones as his father.
