North Carolina Tar Heels cornerback Jabari Price underwent surgery on Friday to repair a tendon in his left hand, reports the News & Observer. His return to the football field is unknown, but he will be reevaluated in six weeks to gauge his progress, according to the Charlotte Observer. Price injured his hand during Tuesday's practice.

The injury to the sophomore cornerback has forced a shuffle at the position. To fill in during Price's absence, junior Todd Harrelson has switched sides on the field and moved from wide receiver to cornerback, a position he played in high school.

Price's fellow sophomore, Tre Boston, is also playing cornerback again, though he was slated to be the free safety this season. According to other reports from practice, freshman Tony Scott is playing with the first-team defense at cornerback with Boston. The Tar Heels begin their season Sept. 3 with a home game against James Madison.
