WR Je’Ron Stokes has left the Michigan Wolverines football program, according to a spokesman Tuesday morning.
Stokes appeared in 10 games last season for UM, but had only one catch for 11 yards in the game against Iowa. He garnered two catches for 16 yards in 2009.
He came to Michigan via Tennessee, from whence he transferred when Phil Fulmer was fired.
Stokes' departure comes on the heels of WR Darryl Stonum being suspended for the 2011 season by head coach Brady Hoke. Freshman OL Tony Posada also left on Monday.
The Wolverines receiving corp still has its top trio of Martavious Odoms, Roy Roundtree and Junior Hemingway, but the depth behind them is extremely drained heading into the season. Expect WR to be a spot of focus for the Wolverines in the 2012 recruiting chase.
