Randall Mackey Arrested: Ole Miss QB Likely To Miss Opener

Ole Miss quarterback was arrested in Oxford Monday night for disorderly conduct stemming from a bar fight. He will reportedly miss the Rebels’ first game against BYU.

Ole Miss quarterback Randall Mackey was arrested Monday night on charges of disorderly conduct, according to the Clarion-Ledger, throwing the Rebels' quarterback situation into more flux than it already was.

Mackey was reportedly in a fight outside Oxford bar The Lyric and was brought to the police station for the misdemeanor charge, and was released later that night.

According to C-L writer Hugh Kellenberger, Mackey had recently taken the lead in Ole Miss' three-way quarterback competition, along with Barry Brunetti and Zack Stoudt, because of his ability to drop back, run the option, and make big plays.

Though discipline issues are as common as tailgate parties in the SEC, this will apparently land Mackey on the sideline for at least the season opener against BYU:
