Miami tight end Cory White will miss the 2011 season with a knee injury according to the injury report released by coach Al Golden on Monday. White was seen Saturday sporting crutches and wearing a knee brace. He joins tight end Blake Ayles, defensive tackle Curtis Porter, defensive tackle Luther Robinson, defensive lineman Shayon Green and offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson among the injured Hurricanes for the team's season opener against Maryland.
Miami Football Loses TE Cory White For 2011 Season
Cory White’s absence will leave the Hurricanes thin at tight end.
Of course, the Hurricanes could be without significantly more key contributors depending on what the NCAA says this week on whether eight players are eligible to play due to their role in the Nevin Shapiro scandal, most notably starting quarterback Jacory Harris.
White’s absence should not have as big an impact. He enters this season as a sophomore, with just one career reception to his name.
