Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict may be the best linebacker, if not the best defensive player, in college football, but if a report that surfaced on Sunday has any legs to it there will be serious questions coming out of it. According to Sports by Brooks, Burfict had issues with a teammate and eventually punched him in the locker room on Wednesday.
Vontaze Burfict Punched Teammate Kevin Ozier, According To Report
Vontaze Burfict allegedly attacked an Arizona State teammate earlier in the week. He did not appear at Saturday’s media day.

This alleged incident began on the practice field where Burfict and wide receiver Kevin Ozier got into an argument. This then reportedly spilled over into the locker room after practicing and resulted in Burfict "sucker-punching the diminutive wide receiver in the face," according to Brooks.
Brooks believes Arizona State head coach Dennis Erickson is covering up this incident. Case in point, Brooks notes, Erickson and a number of Sun Devils took part in Saturday’s annual preseason media day, but Burfict was nowhere to be found. Erickson mentions Burfict as a leader during his time with the media.
While this story shouldn’t yet be taken as the gospel truth, it certainly seems plausible due to Burfict’s famous on-field intensity.
