Minnesota Golden Gophers coach Jerry Kill suffered a seizure late in his team's Saturday game against New Mexico State. He was removed from the field by cart and taken to a hospital. The University of Minnesota announced Kill is in stable condition and already improving.
Jerry Kill ‘Stable And Improving’ After Seizure On Minnesota Sideline
Dr. Smith provided University officials with a further update early in the evening following the game and said that Kill was stable and awake, but medicated. He said that Kill was improving and talking with his wife Rebecca, but would undergo further testing as a precaution.
Kill has a history of dealing with both seizures and dehydration on the sidelines. Smith said the two ailments affect Kill in tandem, with hot and humid conditions threatening to trigger seizures.
There’s no timetable yet on Kill’s return to his post as Minnesota coach. Based on his past, you could hope for a quick recovery, but the most important news is that he’s going to be fine.
