However, this game marks the first time they meet as top 25 teams in the 105-year history of the series, which dates back to 1902. Mississippi State has been in the top 25 for nine straight weeks dating back to last season, which is the program’s longest streak since 1999.
The Bulldogs bring with them a rushing attack that features Vick Ballard, LaDarius Perkins and quarterback Chris Relf. However, don't expect LSU to be intimidated. They've already shut down the the high-powered Oregon offense.
Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen expects center Quentin Saulsberry to play against LSU. He left the Auburn game with a knee injury. Mullen was not as optimistic about left tackle James Carmon, who injured his leg.
