Navy Vs. South Carolina Final Score: Marcus Lattimore Runs Wild Against Midshipmen In 24-21 Victory

For just a brief time the Navy Midshipmen looked as though they could pull off the upset against the No. 10 South Carolina Gamecocks. But just as soon as they had the lead late in the third quarter, South Carolina pulled it back away for the 24-21 victory

South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore pounded the ball all day long, but his seven-yard run into the end zone early in the fourth quarter put the Gamecocks back in the lead, 24-21, and in place for the victory. Lattimore carried the rock 37 times for 246 yards and three touchdowns. His previous high for yards in a game came last season, his freshman, when he ran for 212 yards against the Florida Gators.

Navy's Kriss Proctor attempted to direct a comeback from his own six-yard line, but Antonio Allen intercepted the pass with one minute left on the clock. That secured South Carolina's victory.

The Gamecocks (3-0) host the Vanderbilt Commodores next week. Navy takes next week off before it hosts Air Force as part of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy series.
