FSU’s Kenny Shaw Knocked Out, Hit In Head By Two Oklahoma Defenders

Awful moment at Doak Campbell: Florida St. Seminoles wide receiver Kenny Shaw was down for several moments after being hit in both sides of his helmet by Oklahoma Sooners players. He remained motionless in the end zone as medical personnel surrounded and a cart was brought out. ABC later reported that he'd slowly regained consciousness and had movement in all his limbs after being loaded into an ambulance

Shaw was attempting to catch a pass over the middle when two OU defenders converged, with each of their helmets striking his. Seeing his head pressed between two players was one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in a football game. He went limp, with his arms losing control of the football, and the back of his head slammed into the ground.

The hits didn’t appear to be dirty, as both defenders led with their shoulders, but it was certainly unfortunate. Referees threw flags well after the play ended, with personal fouls the call.
