After a lackluster start to the season with a two-point victory over the Minnesota Gophers, the USC Trojans looked a bit better against the Utah Utes last week. This week they are easily handling the Syracuse Orange with a 24-10 lead in the third quarter.
Syracuse Vs. USC Score: Matt Barkley’s Three TDs Has Trojans Up, 24-10
Syracuse jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a 23-yard field goal by Ross Krautman midway through the first quarter, but it was all to fleeting for the Orange. USC quarterback Matt Barkley has thrown a touchdown each quarter as part of his 18-for-27, 222-yard night so far. His sophomore wide receiver, Robert Woods, has been his main target, accounting for six receptions, 70 yards and a 31-yard touchdown. Randall Telfer lit up the third quarter with a 44-yard touchdown reception from Barkley.
Syracuse, though, still has a trick or two up its sleeves. Wide receiver Alec Lemon hit fellow receiver Van Chew for 28 yards and a touchdown on the ensuing drive.
