With starting quarterback E.J. Manuel in the locker room with an injury, the Florida St. Seminoles turned to redshirt freshman backup Clint Trickett to make up a 13-3 difference against the Oklahoma Sooners. He was able to get something of a drive going, but a vicious Tony Jefferson blitz forced a third-and-long and ended a promising effort.

Still, golden-toed FSU kicker Dustin Hopkins, perhaps the best kicker in the country, was able to launch a 46-yard field goal to bring the Seminoles within a touchdown, making it 13-6.
Neither offense has been able to get much going. I keep saying that, but it remains true. Even blue-chipper Landry Jones has only 109 yards on 17 attempts, plus two interceptions. If you were expecting a defensive battle, you're probably satisfied with what's happening at Doak Campbell.
