E.J. Manuel Injury: FSU QB Hurts Left Arm, Leaves Field

Florida St. Seminoles quarterback E.J. Manuel has played a gutsy game against an underrated Oklahoma Sooners defense, running for 50 yards and throwing for 86 despite being under constant assault. One of those hits, by linebacker Travis Lewis, eventually knocked Manuel out of the game.

A play after Manuel took that hit, he attempted to throw, but winced sharply while reaching for his left shoulder. He appeared concerned while communicating with his sideline. FSU left him in. Even after handing the ball off on a running play, he continued to signal his coaches, at one point mouthing that he couldn’t move his arm.

The Noles chose to keep him on the field for one more play, a toss run during which he collapsed while making the pitch. He spent a moment on the bench after the drive, giving way to redshirt freshman Clint Trickett and leaving the field.

While he sat on the bench, trainers had him try to raise his arm parallel -- he was unable to do it.
