Florida State Vs. Clemson Score: Tigers Out To Early Lead In Death Valley

The Clemson Tigers are off to a good start early as their explosive offense was able to put up a pair of touchdowns in the first quarter. The Florida State Seminoles answered with a long score of their own, but still find themselves down as the scoreboard reads 14-10 in favor of the Tigers.

The Seminoles began the game with a solid drive, but it ultimately ended in a Dustin Hopkins -- not that Dustin Hopkins -- field goal, leaving the door open for Clemson to take over in Death Valley. They did that, too, as Florida State committed a pass interference penalty before eventually giving up a 24-yard touchdown pass to Sammy Watkins from quarterback Tajh Boyd. Boyd decided to run the Tigers' second touchdown in from the one-yard line, but that came thanks to a roughing the punter penalty that should have given the 'Noles the ball back.

Florida State ended the first quarter with the momentum in their favor, however, as backup quarterback Clint Trickett -- starting for the injured E.J. Manuel -- fired a 57-yard bomb to Rodney Smith after buying himself time and getting outside of the pocket.
