Clemson Vs. FSU Final Score: Tajh Boyd Bombs E.J. Manuel-less Noles, 35-30

It’s not as bad as it sounds, but I don’t really know how to say “he ran into a brick wall after a touchdown, but it wasn’t as bad as it sounds” in like five words. Remember when everybody was worried about this happening during that game at Wrigley Field?

I’m not sure what was going through Tajh Boyd’s mind when he threw what turned out to be a pick-six, but it’s probably best not to even guess. Boyd, who has been outstanding this season, had his moment in the spotlight on the play, and it just didn’t turn out well.

Florida State will be playing Clemson for pole position in the ACC’s Atlantic Division without their first-string quarterback this Saturday. Redshirt freshman Clint Trickett will start while E.J. Manuel recovers from injuries sustained against Oklahoma.

Trickett entered Florida State’s loss against Oklahoma in the second half, and proceeded to complete seven of 15 throws for 134 yards and a touchdown. Manuel completed 13 of 19 passes against Oklahoma, but for just 85 yards; he also threw two interceptions.

Meanwhile, Clemson and their potent rushing attack are coming off a big victory over Auburn. The Tigers weren’t expected to do much this year, but if they manage to beat Florida State - despite FSU’s injuries and the game’s location - they’re a team the country will have to start taking seriously.
