Oklahoma State Vs. Texas A&M Final Score: Cowboys Come Back, Win 30-27

Oklahoma State looked all but dead against Texas A&M in the raucous cauldron that is Kyle Field. But Brandon Weeden coolly and calmly dissected the Aggies in the second half, and the Cowboys took advantage of a massive third quarter to come back from a 20-3 halftime deficit and claim an impressive 30-29 win on the road in College Station.

Oklahoma State got 27 consecutive points in the second half to build a 30-20 lead, then staved off Texas A&M’s fourth quarter comeback attempt with a pick by James Thomas.

Texas A&M’s wounds were largely self-inflicted, and almost totally confined to the second half. After playing a near-perfect first half, the Aggies committed four turnovers in the third quarter, and gave up nearly 300 yards of offense to the Cowboys in that period alone.

That forced A&M away from a running game that was excellent in the first half behind Christine Michael (six carries, 62 yards) and toward a reliance on Ryan Tannehill’s arm. Tannehill couldn’t come through, completing just 28 of 47 passes and throwing three interceptions.

Weeden, on the other hand? A jaw-dropping 47 completions on 60 attempts, for 437 yards and two touchdowns. Oklahoma State might have saved its national title dreams with its second half, and Weeden may have preserved his Heisman candidacy, too.
