South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Stephen Garcia has had a miserable game so far against the Vanderbilt Commodores.Well, at least until the final second of the first half. Garcia made a short pass to running back Marcus Lattimore, which turned into a 52-yard touchdown pass. The Gamecocks lead the Commodores at halftime, 14-3.
Vanderbilt Vs. South Carolina Score: Stephen Garcia Throws Three Interceptions, But Gamecocks Lead At Halftime, 14-3
However, Garcia has thrown three interceptions in the first half. His second interception gave way eventually to Vandy’s field goal and a 3-0 lead. His third wasn’t so bad once Vandy started its drive.
Vandy's Larry Smith was sacked by freshman Jadeveon Clowney, who knocked the ball to the ground. Antonio Allen recovered the ball and took it to Vandy's 11-yard line. However, Allen had the ball stripped from his possession. Luckily, Melvin Ingram was there to fall on the ball in the end zone for the touchdown and the 7-3 lead.
Smith threw an interception later in the second quarter, sparing Garcia from being the only quarterback to be picked off in this game. But that fumble was also embarrassing. More concerning for the Commodores, though, should be their three total first downs in the half. They had none in the first quarter.
